Luzern is growing, changing and facing major challenges in the area of mobility. Increasing traffic, limited space and ecological requirements make it clear: We need a modern and sustainable mobility concept.
As part of Urban Development 2026, we are working with the population to develop concrete solutions for:
less car traffic
attractive and efficient public transport (ÖV)
safe and consistent Bicycle paths
Livable neighborhoods with a high quality of stay
The transport transition can only be achieved together - transparently, fact-based and with broad participation.

Phase 1: Taking stock
March - April 2026
To begin with, we analyze the current one Situation.
Instruments:
Online survey about your daily routes and mobility needs
Workshops and dialogue events in all neighborhoods
Collection of specific ones Information from the population
The goal is a realistic and shared picture of today's traffic situation.
Phase 2: Collection of ideas
May - June 2026
Based on the analysis, we develop concrete solutions.
Among other things, the following will be discussed:
New and seamless cycle paths
Concepts for the expansion and optimization of public transport
Intelligent parking space management
New or expanded pedestrian zones
Traffic calming in residential areas
All residents are invited to submit their own suggestions and further develop existing ideas.
Phase 3: Assessment & Prioritization
July 2026
In this phase, we check and weight the collected suggestions.
Joint evaluation of the ideas
Feasibility analyzes (technical and legal)
Cost-benefit calculations
Prioritization of the most effective measures
The goal is a transparent decision-making process with clear Criteria.
Phase 4: Implementation plan
August 2026
Finally, a concrete action plan is drawn up.
