Luzern is a lively city, but more and more public places are disappearing or becoming heavily commercialized. Many people want more freely accessible places where citizens can meet, exchange ideas and spend time together.

With this initiative we are committed to creating more public meeting spaces in Lucerne. Squares, parks and lounge areas should be designed in such a way that they are attractive and accessible for all generations.

Our demands:

• Creation of 5 new public meeting places in different neighborhoods

• Expansion of seating options, fountains and shady lounge areas

• Establishment of play and exercise zones for children and Young people

• More cultural and communal uses in public spaces

• Support for neighborhood events and local initiatives

Public meeting places promote social interaction, strengthen neighborhoods and increase the quality of life. Especially in a growing city, it is important to have places where people can come together regardless of income or origin.
