This includes comprehensive 30 km/h zones in residential areas, the promotion of electromobility through the expansion of charging stations, and a clear prioritization of public transport and bicycle traffic. At the same time, more green street spaces should be created because trees and plants can filter pollutants and improve the urban climate.

Air pollution is not only an environmental problem, but also a serious health risk. In Switzerland, several thousand premature deaths are linked to poor air quality every year. Children, older people and people with respiratory diseases are particularly sensitive.

An important part of the initiative is also traffic calming by speeding up to 30 km/h. Lower speeds not only significantly reduce the risk of accidents, but also reduce noise and exhaust fumes. Cities that have implemented such measures report a noticeably better quality of life for their population.
