Better bike paths

Safely cycling through Lucerne

Luzern has great potential as a cycling city, but the existing infrastructure is inadequate in many places. Cycle paths are often not continuous, too narrow or end suddenly, which means many people don't use their bikes in everyday life - even though they would like to. This initiative is therefore committed to a safe, connected and modern network of cycle paths in Lucerne.

The aim is to make cycling in the city safer, more attractive and more suitable for everyday use. This includes continuous bicycle routes from the city center to all districts, a clear separation between car and bicycle traffic on busy streets and significantly more safe parking options, especially at important transport hubs such as the train station.

Expanding the bicycle infrastructure brings many advantages: less traffic, less noise, better air and more quality of life. At the same time, it promotes the health of the population and creates a sustainable alternative to the car for short and medium distances.

The topic of safety for children and young people is particularly important. Safe bicycle paths enable them to travel to school or to leisure activities independently - without dangerous traffic situations.

With this initiative, Lucerne is intended to connect with other European cities where bicycles are already a central part of urban mobility.

Support this initiative and help make Lucerne a safe and bicycle-friendly city. 🚲
